METTLE Get Mettle

Privacy Policy

Mettle is operated by Akash and is available on Google Play for Android. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, which providers help us run the service, and how to ask for deletion, export, or support.

Who controls your data

For now, Mettle is operated by Akash. You can reach the operator for privacy, refund, cancellation, and support requests at akash@chaitonix.com.

Delete your Mettle data

To delete the data stored by the Android app:

  1. Open Mettle and select Profile.
  2. In the Privacy section, select Delete everything.
  3. Confirm Delete everything.

This immediately removes the app's reps, people, recordings, transcripts, reflections, coach messages, coach memory, kept screenshots, settings, API keys, and connected-provider tokens from that device. If you no longer have the app, or want us to delete mailing-list, support, or membership records, email akash@chaitonix.com with the subject “Delete my Mettle data”. We normally complete verified requests within 30 days.

What we collect on the website

If you join the updates list, subscribe to the journal, or buy a membership, we collect your email address, selected plan, selected currency, source page, and any optional onboarding answers you choose to provide. If you allow optional website analytics, limited source and UTM details may also be held in session storage while you browse. If you pay, Stripe also sends us payment status, checkout, subscription, invoice, refund, and customer identifiers needed to confirm access and handle support.

Optional website analytics and diagnostics

The website does not load Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, or Sentry before you select Allow optional. If you allow them, Google Analytics measures page visits, successful signup types, and checkout starts using limited fields such as plan, currency, locale, and pathname. Sentry receives sanitised client-side error types and code locations so we can diagnose website faults.

We keep Google's advertising storage, ad user data, and ad personalisation disabled. We do not send email addresses, form answers, URL queries or fragments, full referrers, payment details, or private app log content to Google Analytics or Sentry. Your choice is stored locally in your browser. Use the Privacy choices button on any instrumented page to change or withdraw it.

What the Mettle app stores and sends

Mettle is built around a private field log, not a public dating profile. You may choose to save locally interaction rows such as when a rep happened, the setting or context, the stage you reached (for example approached, got number, date set, or relationship), the signal you noticed, and the next move you want to train. You may also save reflections, goals, sticking points, coach-chat messages, names or nicknames, memory notes, pattern summaries, and funnel-style progress insights.

If you connect Google Gemini, an OpenAI API key, or the experimental ChatGPT-plan option, the app sends the content needed for the coaching request directly from your phone to the provider you selected. This may include your message, profile and goals, relevant log entries, reflections, names, memory notes, and app interactions. Mettle does not send this content for advertising or analytics.

You can optionally record audio for transcription or coaching. After the in-app disclosure and your consent, a recording or transcript is sent over HTTPS to Google Gemini or OpenAI for that request. Unkept recording audio is removed from the phone after 24 hours; transcripts and extracted insights stay locally until you delete them. You can also choose a screenshot for a one-time coach debrief. The app removes image metadata before upload and deletes its temporary copy after the request unless you explicitly choose to keep it on the device.

This information can be personal and sensitive. Do not enter emergency information, medical advice requests, financial details, legal secrets, or unnecessary identifying details about other people. The app does not request device location or contacts and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

Why we use the data

  • To send confirmation emails, product updates, membership notices, and support replies.
  • To process payments, renewals, refunds, failed-payment notices, and cancellations.
  • To build private app features such as logging, review, coach memory, export, and deletion.
  • To prevent abuse, debug reliability issues, and keep a minimal operational record.

How Mettle uses app memory

Coach memory is meant to remember your own goals, repeated sticking points, previous reps, and what helped you improve. It is not a public score, public profile, matching signal, or ranking system. You can review, correct, export, and delete this memory in the app.

Providers we use

Stripe processes checkout, subscriptions, invoices, refunds, and payment metadata. Resend sends confirmation and support emails. Vercel hosts the website and serverless API. If connected, Vercel KV or Upstash stores mailing-list, membership, and onboarding records. With your optional website consent, Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics and Sentry receives sanitised website errors. Google Gemini and OpenAI process optional coach, transcription, audio, and screenshot requests when you select and connect one of those providers. These app requests go directly from your phone to the selected provider; Mettle does not keep a server copy of your private app log, audio, or screenshots. The provider may process or retain submitted data under its terms and your provider-account settings. Deleting local Mettle data does not delete copies a provider is required or permitted to retain, so use the provider's privacy controls for those copies.

UK and EU privacy basis

For UK and EU visitors, checkout, membership, cancellation, and refund handling are processed to take steps before a contract or perform a contract. Accounting, tax, fraud, and dispute records are kept where legally required or where Mettle has a legitimate need to protect the service. Updates-list and journal emails are based on your request to receive them, and you can stop them by replying to any Mettle email. Optional website analytics and diagnostics are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through Privacy choices.

Your choices

You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your data by emailing akash@chaitonix.com. You can also reply to any Mettle email. We will handle ordinary privacy requests within 30 days unless a shorter legal deadline applies. You can also change the website's optional analytics and diagnostics setting through Privacy choices without contacting us.

Retention

Mailing-list and support records are kept until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer needed. Payment records are kept as needed for tax, accounting, dispute, refund, and fraud-prevention purposes. Local app logs, coach memory, kept recordings, and kept screenshots remain until you delete them. Unkept recording audio expires after 24 hours, and temporary screenshots are removed after the request. Your website privacy choice is kept locally until you change it. Consent-enabled first-touch campaign details remain only for the browser session. Google Analytics retains user and event data for two months. Sentry's current Developer plan provides a 30-day event lookback. Provider-side app-request retention is controlled by Google or OpenAI under the service and account you selected. Verified deletion requests for Mettle's website records are normally completed within 30 days. Payment and accounting records may be retained for six years from the end of the relevant company financial year, or longer where tax, dispute, fraud-prevention, or other legal obligations require it.

International processing

Mettle uses internet infrastructure providers that may process data in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on provider safeguards and contracts for those transfers.

Security and age

Mettle is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We use HTTPS, Stripe-hosted checkout, limited internal access, and provider-side security controls. No internet service is perfectly secure, so please do not submit emergency, medical, financial, or highly sensitive legal information.
